Recently, our school was awarded $3,400 from the BECKLEY AREA FOUNDATION to purchase a classroom set of Nintendo DS Game Systems and 19 educational games. Two co-workers from the Game Stop store in our community, came to give our students and inservice on how to use and take care of the game systems. Thanks Amber and Jenna for doing a great job! They also reviewed rules on when and how to use these correctly in the classroom. The games involved math skills, reading comprehension and vocabulary skills, along with critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is just another way to use 21st century technology in the classroom.
